Montreal, November 17th, 2015. Netpak Packaging, the leading Canadian packaging and commercial printer based in Montreal (Quebec, Canada) has received its second consecutive “A” grade from the British Retail Consortium (BRC) Global Standards for Packaging and Packaging Material.

Upon completion of the rigorous auditing process, Netpak received certification for Packaging, with the scope of the certification including the manufacture, conversion and warehousing of folding carton, sleeves and labels intended for use in food contact packaging applications. The BRC Global Standards are well-respected and widely used by suppliers and retailers worldwide, aiding in standardizing quality, safety, operational criteria and manufacturers’ fulfillment of legal obligations. The Packaging and Packaging Materials standard is also recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).

In November 2013, Netpak Packaging become the first North American packaging printer to achieve the BRC Global Standard certification for Packaging and Packaging Materials. For the second consecutive audit period Netpak has achieved a certification under the BRC Global Standards with an “A” grade, the highest available, demonstrating once again its commitment to food safety standards. Achieving and maintaining this certification at the highest grade takes rigorous effort throughout the organization, and it would not have been possible without the commitment by Netpak CoFounders, Carlo Cammalleri and Salvatore Novello and the diligent efforts of our QC, QA and operation team, as well as the dedication to meet these standards by everybody in the company.

“We put together a team that focuses on standards, procedures and quality improvement to achieve BRC Certification,” explains Carlo Cammalleri. However, maintaining the standard requires buy-in from everyone in our organization. Our employees worked very hard to make this happen. “This shows current and prospective customers that we are a reliable company committed to producing safe, high quality food packaging” said Cammalleri.

Salvatore Novello said, “Maintaining our ‘A’ grade was a goal that we set when we first achieved it.” Novello continued, “After our initial audit, we began a process of continuous improvement and the result is we have received the highest possible grade from BRC and have maintained it for two consecutive audits. This demonstrates our ongoing commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety. Our customers can have confidence that their packaging partner, Netpak Packaging, has met and will continue to meet the highest standards in the industry.”

Netpak Packaging as a whole has become a better company because of our BRC certification and because of our pursuit of the high level of standards, practices and procedures that are required in the BRC certification.
